Planetary Embodiment: Cooking with Words for Systemic Change and Solidarity, 2023
publication | riso print on paper | collaboration
co-initiated, edited and designed in collaboration with Andrea Galano Toro and Luïza Luz
Planetary Embodiment (2021-2023) is a seminar and transdisciplinary artistic practice coordinated by Luïza Luz at the Berlin University of Arts (UdK) as part of Studium Generale. Engaging with ‘The Transformation of Silence into Language and Action,’ as suggested by Audre Lorde, we envisioned this book with the intention of investigating the power of words in breaking silences and promoting awareness of intersectional environmentalism.
The content was developed through workshops and guest lectures in collaboration with Andrea Galano Toro, gal sherizly, Denilson Baniwa, participants, and friends.
In reciprocity for the causes we are addressing, the profits from this book will be directed toward initiatives supporting Indigenous, land, human, and more-than-human rights.
The publication includes:
1) Thinking with words, foraged and defined by students and external contributors
2) Food for thought, recipes that activate the terms proposing ways to cultivate cultures of solidarity and care for the Earth and each other
3) Compost: A conversation between Luïza Luz, and Denilson Baniwa, as well as introduction, editor’s notes, and contributors list.

November 2022
Andrea and i met in the spring seminar of Planetary Embodiment and the Privilege of Dreaming as external students at the UdK Berlin, where we started dreaming of a collaborative publication for dreamy fragments, recipe for dreaming, documentation, and a glossary for Planetary Embodiment (what a year later became the publication you see above).
In this seminar we facilitated a writing workshop, co-created recipes for dreaming–Here dreams are seen as the energy that keeps us going, and as a peivilige we must use for transformative justice.
Following the 4 stages of sleep and e ach group reflected on these questions:
“It matters what matters we use to think other matters with (...)
what descriptions describe descriptions, It matters what stories make worlds, what worlds make stories.”
– Staying with the trouble,

Following the 4 stages of sleep and e ach group reflected on these questions:
- How is the body experiencing these phases?
- What are the changes in the body? Is the body acrive or passive?
- How can we use our dreams as guidance? (on individual, collective, and planetary level)

Being All Ears
multisensorial listening & writing workshop | fasilitation | commissioned
in collaboration with Andrea Galano Toro
May 2023
In this seminar we wanted to create a space for shifting attention and oscillating between senses through embodiment practices, deep listening, and writing. We invited the studens to attend to the sounds of the inward, the outside, the imaginary, the extinct, the present, and the absent. Deep Listening as suggested by musician, composer and deep listener Pauline Oliveros is practised beyond the audible. Oliveros writes “All cultures develop through ways of listening”. Actively through all organs, as opposed to passive heaaring.
We explored the questions: How does listening shape our culture? And how does the lack of listening damage it?
”Hearing represents the primary sense organ – Hearing happens involuntarily. Listening is a voluntary process that through training and experience produces culture.” – Pauline Oliveros
to listen to the polyrhythms of our bodies, while harmonising with the other rhythms of our surroundings. We will explore how to expand the experience of listening beyond our ears by writing collective recipes for listening.

From the classrooms to the radio, Planetary Embodiment beams quantum love frequencies to all ears 4 a healing planet. Delving into unnoticed details, activating all senses, breaking silences, and giving space to sink in: from hearing to tasting, from sensing to feeling, from bottom to top, side-to-side, sonically bounced, simultaneously, from the past, present, and futures. Beyond the surfaces. Beyond the end of this world.
This session is a sneak peek of the book "Planetary Embodiment: Cooking with Words for Systemic Change and Solidarity." Join them for the launch at Hopscotch Reading Room on September 9th at 19:19.
