gal sherizly (all pronouns/non) aka fungal 9669 is a writer, facilitator and FEELed researcher, exploring trans/lation and memory through words and embodied practices. Food is at the centre–physically and metaphorically–a medium to tell migration stories and speculate on pussyble worlds.
Trans/lation happens in a feedback loop: from the word to the body and from the body to words. Following their methodology of "cooking with words” gal gleans words as ingredients for writing embodied recipes for healing bodies and cistems–these recipes serve as regenerative instructions for community building, plant medicine and a r/evolution towards love. Through performance and collective ritual gal connects to more-than-human agents and collages queer mythology, ancestral wisdom and songs into decolonial narratives.
gal’s latest project food from memory is an online archive, in dedication to their grandmother Suzanne, that commemorate peoples' family recipes in intuitive ways of knowing and sensing, beyond the colonial form of words and measured quantities.
