gal sherizly (they/them) aka fungal 9669 is a writer, facilitator and FEELed researcher. They explore memory and translation through multisensorial collage of written, spoken, edible, audible and visual into performances, rituals, collective gatherings, installations and workshops. gal writes recipes for preserving ancestral and more-than-human knowledge—translating them into digestible, accessible and embodied manuals. They use wor(l)ds as ingredients for cooking a planetary r/EVOLution: healing bodies and cistems and trans/forming dietary lexicons–expanding linguistic, musical and cultural terrains. As a facilitator and space holder gal aim to bridge differences through deep listening and amplifying similarities, where word, sound and food are the gateways for those longing for belonging. gal’s latest project food from memory is an online archive, in dedication to their grandmother Suzanne, that commemorates people’s family recipes and translates them into intuitive ways of knowing and sensing, beyond the written form and measured quantities.
