Kreative Kita at Ina Kita, Berlin
September & October 2022
1-week workshop each

Leftovers as Creative Re/membering
During this workshop we were re-thinking leftovers as a gateway for creativity. We started this week-long journey together with resensibilisation of the senses, using our eyes, noses and tounges to decide if an expired product is still good to be consumed. We made veggie stamps and collages. We continued with pickles making as a way to preseve the surpluses in the kindergarden, and finally we went into the kindergarden’s garden and foraged herbs and tomatoes for decorating our collective massaged focaccia.

Dumplings around the World
As a mixed Kita we wanted to familirise the kids with worldwide cusines. Our diparture point: Dumplings, or any simmilar dough-pocket with fillings–a common dish dish that can be found in nearly every kitchen, filled, formed and named differently. We started with a visual overview of the worls map and dumplings images. The following day we played with clay–forming dumplings and getting a sense of how to work with dough. Finally the kids were asked to bring the filling of their choice, something that was familiar in their home, and for the final meal made hybrid dumplings, bridging cullturs on the table and then through the mouth.
