For the oven activation we gather as the descendants of Breadwoman : Breadhumans. Breadhumans are queer mythological creatures who have come to Vilnius to re/member the many stories and mythologies of ancient wheat grain, flour and bread. Breadhumans invite the participants for a bread-making ritual and a conversation with the bread, the elements (earth, water, fire, air and ether).

As we gather around the bread we wonder: how does the bread feel about its migration stories and developing technologies? This is a conversation with and within an ancestral body: Grain, water and heat. Each answer is a story told from the heart of a glutinous body. Dancing between the mythologies of bread, tales of social connections and promises of communities, the kneading, resting and baking become the timeline of an ageless story.

Bread is a body linking many other bodies.
So we become bread.
We become bread to understand the intricacies of being a sacred body.
We become bread to experience ecstatic molecular transformation within the oven.
We become bread to remember how the sun felt on the wheat at the dawn of summer.

The activation follows the rhythm of bread making as a poetic structure for the ritual-performance–kneading, resting, preparing, baking and eating/digesting; where each part embodies different temporalities–past, present & speculative future.
